You are not alone if you are feeling overwhelmed. When you become stressed out, through over-stimulation, you loose presence. When you lose presence, body, mind and spirit become disconnected.
You Are Better than you Think:
First, the good news is that there is nothing wrong with you. You are not defective! You don’t need fixing!
Under all the armour you have put up around yourself to survive in the world is the unique beautiful you. I believe we are all born into our world with gifts to share. You have an essential role in the healing of the world.
So where do you start on this journey towards healing? There is lots of information out there. There are hundreds of self-help books and programs promising to resolve your problems. Who should you pay attention to?
Where do I Start?
Many of these self-help books are about people’s journeys to health. While what they did worked for them it likely it won’t work for you. Each of us is different and need different things to become healthier.
The good news is that there is wisdom available to you when you can bring mind, body and spirit together. This wisdom does not come from a book. It comes from within.
We Are All Spiritual Beings
I believe you are a spiritual being whether or not you are part of any religion. For me, spirituality is what connects us with the universe and all that is within it.
Spirituality connects you and me. It joins us with all forms of life on planet earth. It unites us with universal wisdom that is available to all of us. Some of us call this God, Allah, Spirit, Wisdom, Higher Self and Goddess.

Your body is amazing. When you pay attention, it will tell you so much. Your body will reveal to you when you are not taking proper care of it? Your will body will warn you when you are about to do something that is not in your best interest. Your body will alert you when you in the presence of a person who is not good for you. I call this intuition.
On the other hand, your body will let you know when you are kind to yourself. You will know by the warm feeling of well-being in every part of your body.

Find a Safe Place and People to do Your Inner Work
It is essential to find a safe place to do it. Make sure you have someone nearby, you trust, so you do not feel alone. Someone who will be with you who will not try to fix you. Someone who will not judge you. Someone who accepts you as you are.
I have found meditation very helpful for me. There are many tools available to help you do it. First of all, there are many ways to contemplate. There is no wrong or right way to do it. You have to find what works best for you.
The mind is meant to think.
When you get too caught up in your thoughts, it is easy to become disconnected from body and spirit.
When you quiet your mind, you have greater access to the wisdom that comes from the sensations in your body. Part of this bodily wisdom shows itself in your intuition. You have greater access to the knowledge that comes from the universe. You have greater access to your emotions that come from your heart. Quieting your mind is the key to accessing your inner world.
Quieting the Mind is not easy work.
It takes a lot of determination, self-love, self-compassion and a hunger for more in life.
You will notice the change over time. Celebrate every insight, every moment you let go of the past and every moment you risk moving into the unknown.
The tool I like using the most is called “Insight Timer.” It is available from both Google Play and the App Store.
Meditation Comes in Many Forms
If you need to move, you can turn walks, gardening, cooking and many other activities into times of reflection. The bottom line is to find an exercise to help you quiet your mind.
You Can Bring Harmony of Mind, Body and Spirit into Your Life!
As you practise this, it will get easier over time. The more you can feel your uncomfortable sensations the less power they will have control over you. I am talking months and years of deliberate practice.
The more we can live in the present the more we become open to the spirit. Learning to be present is what the great mystics teach us from Judaism, Islam and Christianity.
When you are present, you have access to your inner world which includes the mind, body and spirit.
You are worth it! The path to new life may be hard, but it is so worth it. As time moves on you will notice small shifts. Friends and family may even see the changes in your before you are also aware of them.
